Rebuilding our Lives and Finding Hope - October 28 - 29, Ann Nicole Nelson Hall
In the wake of the recent flooding of the Souris River Valley, the members of the community of Minot have displayed remarkable levels of resilience and togetherness. Individuals from different walks of life and, indeed, from throughout the country, have come together to help one another rebuild homes and lives, one step at a time. And, while the physical reconstruction of our community is already well underway, for many, emotional healing from the displacement and destruction caused by the events of June 22-26 has not yet begun.
In an effort to offer opportunities for healing, a Grief Counseling Seminar is being held at Minot State University in the Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. On October 28 – 29, world-renowned speaker, author and grief management specialist Dr. Darcie D. Sims will lead the seminars . The Friday session will be a workshop for counseling professionals, public servants, religious leaders, and other individuals who serve the community and have been providing spiritual, emotional and physical assistance in the wake of the flooding. Saturday’s session well be open to the community at-large. CEU credits are available and approved for Social Workers and Nurses with other applications in the works.
Please review the attached Brochure and Flyer for further details. This is a free workshop with lunch provided. Reservations are required to determine how many copies and lunches to have at the session.
Contributions have been an invaluable way to leverage the gift that has been given to our community. When you give to St. Joseph's Community Health Foundation the real winner is the community. With each passing year the number of requests for funds expands. As the foundation sets goals for the future, we will need your support to help us realize our community's healthy future. Our community's quality of life has a cost, but it is a price that can be attained with your help. Our success is your success!
